BREAKING GROUND 2018
Breaking Ground was inaugurated on August 31st, 2018 and ran till November 18th, 2018. Co-hosted by the Contemporary Clay Foundation and the Jawahar Kala Kendra, and partnered with the Akshara Foundation of Arts and Learning, it became a runaway success.
Breaking Ground responds to the expansion of ceramic art in India and overseas and the need for the representation of ceramics in a broader contemporary context. The artist projects for this edition explore themes of scale, site specificity and/or concept through installation, interaction, technology and performance

Jawahar Kala Kendra (popularly known as JKK), is a not for profit arts and culture center in Jaipur, which endeavors to preserve and promote Indian art on an international level. The Contemporary Clay Foundation is a not for profit organization set up to promote ceramic art and support practitioners through exhibitions, workshops, international and national exchanges, and residencies. The organization aims to build informed audiences for national and international ceramic art through lectures, workshops, and exhibitions as well as to elevate clay-based practices in the country. The Indian Ceramics Triennale exemplifies the vision of the Foundation in pursuing creative excellence.
