Impact

The highly successful first edition of the Indian Ceramics Triennale, Breaking Ground 2018 – was held in partnership with the Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur from 31 August, 2018 to 18 November 2018. At the core of the first edition were 47 artist projects showcasing ceramics through installation, interaction, technology and performance. The Triennale involved 10 country participations and over 25 institutional partnerships. A retrospective of Jaipur Blue pottery revivalist and artist Kripal Singh Shekhawat, was held as a collateral exhibition. 

The Triennale was critically acclaimed and over 13,000 people viewed the exhibitions. The education and outreach events were very well attended - 200 plus attended the symposium and more than 600 school children participated in the accompanying craft workshops.
