TERRAGEOMETRIX

Rahul Kumar and Chetnaa’s personal artistic sensibilities are reflected in their collaboration. Inspired by their urban surroundings, the large monochromatic installation is made up of 220 textured disc-shaped components of variable size, heights and angles. The jaali (screen) element with gold and blue accents references a lost heritage and contrasts it with modern rigidity. Overlaid on the installation is an abstract impression of a city grid. Map-like imagery in conjunction with organic and jaali elements create compositions that are both familiar and strange at the same time.
